Amalie Stalheim
Amalie Stalheim (b. 1993) is one of the most promising young cellists in Scandinavia today.
Upcoming highlights in season 2019/20 includes soloist performances with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, The Swedish Radio Orchestra, The Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Norrbotten Chamber Orchestra, Nordic Chamber Orchestra among others.
She is the Artist in Residence at the Swedish Radio's classical music channel during 2018/2019.
As a soloist Amalie has performed with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonich Orchestra, Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Südwestdeutches Kammerorkester, and several semi-professional orchestras in Norway and Sweden.
In 2018 Amalie was nominated for the prestigious Statoil Scholarship, as one of five young Norwegian musicians.
Amalie plays on a cello built by F. Ruggieri in 1687,
generously lent to her by Anders Sveaas Almennyttige Fond.
